It is said, “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The story of Jacob and Esau is a story of power abused for the sake of self-advancement. The Jesus-story shows us the divine example of power, “the greatest among you shall be the servant of all…for the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” This week, look for opportunities to serve…and in doing so, reflect the power of Jesus.
